Don't Rush the Process

"Don't rush the process. God is preparing you for what He's preparing for you."

We spend so much time asking God to move us into the next season that we rarely stop to ask what He is trying to accomplish in this one.

We pray for the promise.

God begins working on the person who will receive it.

We ask Him to open doors, answer prayers, restore relationships, and move us into the next season. Yet while we are looking ahead, God is often looking within.

Last month we talked about God dealing with the root. Once He exposes the root, He doesn't stop there. He begins the work of transforming it, and transformation is a process.

The process is not simply about getting you to your destination.

The process is about preparing you for it.

God understands something we often forget. If He gives us what we are asking for before we are spiritually prepared to steward it, the very thing we prayed for can become the thing that overwhelms us.

That is why God is never in a hurry.

He is intentional.

Every delay is not denial.

Every closed door is not rejection.

Every waiting season is not punishment.

Sometimes the greatest evidence of God's love is that He refuses to allow us to arrive before we are ready.

The process is where God develops patience, humility, discernment, obedience, and trust. Those qualities cannot be rushed. They are cultivated over time as we continue walking with Him one obedient step at a time.

The process may feel slow.

It may even feel unfair.

But if you allow God to finish what He is doing in you, you will discover that nothing was wasted.

Everything was preparing you for what He had already prepared for you.

FAITH TURNING POINT

There came a point where I realized I had become more focused on arriving than becoming.

I wanted God to move me into the next season, but He kept slowing me down. At first, I thought He was delaying me. Looking back, I realized He was developing me.

Had God answered some of my prayers when I first prayed them, I would not have had the wisdom, patience, or spiritual maturity to steward what I was asking Him for.

God wasn't withholding from me.

He was preparing me.

That became the turning point.

I stopped asking, "God, when?"

Instead, I started asking, "God, what are You developing in me while I wait?"

The waiting did not become easier overnight, but it became purposeful.

Because I finally understood that the process was never standing between me and the promise.

The process was part of the promise.

WHAT I HAD TO UNLEARN

I had to unlearn the belief that every delay meant God was saying no.

I had to unlearn the expectation that if I was walking in obedience, everything would happen quickly.

I had to unlearn measuring God's faithfulness by how fast He answered my prayers.

Waiting is not wasted.

Silence is not abandonment.

Slow growth is still growth.

God is just as present in the process as He is in the fulfillment.

I also had to unlearn my need to control the timing.

There were moments when I wanted God to move because I thought I was ready.

God knew better.

He wasn't preparing the opportunity.

He was preparing me.

WHAT RESTORATION TAUGHT ME

Restoration taught me that God values who I am becoming more than where I am going.

He is never in a hurry because He sees what I cannot.

He knows what will be required in the next season long before I ever arrive there.

That is why He develops character before influence.

Faith before fulfillment.

Wisdom before responsibility.

Trust before transition.

Every season has purpose.

Every assignment has preparation.

Every delay carries an invitation to grow.

The process is not proof that God has forgotten you.

It is often proof that He loves you enough to prepare you well.

RESTORATION REMINDERS

• Don't rush what God is developing.

• The process is preparing you for what the promise requires.

• Waiting is not wasted when God is working.

• God's timing develops what quick answers never could.

• Every season has purpose.

• Growth often happens before you can see it.

• God is more concerned with who you are becoming than where you are going.

Have you been measuring God's faithfulness by how quickly He answers your prayers?

What part of the process have you been resisting because it feels too slow?

Who is God inviting you to become while you wait?

HEART CHECK

Be honest.

Are you asking God to speed up the process when He is asking you to surrender to it?

Have you been so focused on the promise that you've overlooked the work God is doing in you today?

LET THAT GO

Let go of the need to control the timing.

Let go of comparing your journey to someone else's.

Let go of believing that slow means stagnant.

Let go of rushing what God is intentionally developing.

JOURNAL PROMPT

Take time to reflect on a season where you felt delayed.

Looking back, what was God developing in you during that time?

What qualities, lessons, or areas of spiritual growth prepared you for where you are today?

Now ask the Holy Spirit to show you what He is developing in your current season.

Write down how you will cooperate with His process instead of resisting it.

"But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be perfectly and fully developed, lacking in nothing."

One day you'll look back and realize that God wasn't delaying your future.

He was preparing you for it.

Don't rush the process.

Trust the God who is using it to shape you into the person He created you to be.

Because when the process has finished its work, you'll discover that what God produced in you was just as important as what He produced for you.
