When the Word Works, Restoration Speaks™ — This Is a Process

There is something I have learned about God.

He will allow you to walk through places you never would have chosen… so you can experience Him in ways you never would have known.

Not know about Him.

Know Him.

Because there is a difference.

You can sit in church. You can hear the Word. You can take notes.

And still not know Him. Because there are some things about God you will never understand sitting in comfort.

You understand them when you walk through something with Him.

FAITH TURNING POINT

Ephesians 3:19 (AMPC) says that you may really come to know, through experience for yourselves, the love of Christ… that you may be wholly filled and flooded with God Himself.

Through experience. Not information. And that’s where the shift happened for me. Because I realized…This is not a sprint. This is a process. And every process has pressure. And in the middle of the process… that’s where most people quit.

WHAT I HAD TO UNLEARN

I had to unlearn wanting what God declared… without going through what it takes to get there. Because we want the promise. But we don’t want the process.

We want what God showed us. But if He showed us the middle… most of us would never say yes.

I had to unlearn thinking that I could follow God and still stay comfortable.

I had to unlearn responding to what I felt… instead of standing on what God said.

Because emotions are real. But they are not supposed to lead.

WHAT RESTORATION TAUGHT ME

Restoration taught me that obedience is not optional.

Obedience is evidence of what you believe.

Because belief without obedience… is just words.

And partial obedience… is still disobedience.

There were places where I didn’t understand. Places where I didn’t like it.

Places where I wanted out. But I had to make a decision.

Am I going to obey God… or am I going to follow how I feel? Because you cannot do both.

And what I learned is this…God does not waste trouble.

He uses it.

He uses it to build you.

He uses it to mature you.

He uses it to reveal what’s really in you.

Because a faith that cannot be tested… cannot be trusted.

RESTORATION REMINDERS

• This is not a sprint. This is a process

• Every process comes with pressure

• You don’t really know God until you walk through something with Him

• Emotions are indicators, not leaders

• Obedience is not optional

• God does not waste trouble

MIRROR MOMENTS

Where are you trying to get out… of what God is trying to use?

What are you asking God to remove… that He is actually using to build you?

HEART CHECK

Be honest.

Are you standing on what God said… or are you responding to how you feel?

LET THAT GO

Let go of needing to understand everything before you obey.

Let go of trying to escape the process.

Let go of choosing comfort over obedience.

JOURNAL PROMPT

What is God requiring of you right now that you have been resisting?

Write what you feel.

Then write what God said.

Then decide which one you’re going to follow.
